“Dollar for dollar”
Meaning the trader is looking to trade for beer of equal monetary value to what they are offering. This is opposed to trades that incorporate other factors, such as a beer’s rarity, when determining value. Typically indirect costs like transportation, tickets to a beer sale, and in some cases even sales tax are not considered as part of the beer’s cost.
